Position Details:

The Jacobson Shipping Department is seeking a Receiver responsible for processing incoming freight, scheduling deliveries, compiling and maintaining records pertaining to orders, and receiving supplies and equipment. These processes are required to be overseen with a high level of attention to detail and scrutiny.

Hours are 6:00am-3:00pm with rotational Saturdays required in season. This role is eligible for overtime.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work with Floor Manager and Operations Manager to schedule all inbound freight.
  • Communication with the buyers and accounts receivable to resolve discrepancies as well as plan for hot shipments, large shipments, sold, seasonal and sale product.
  • Offload freight immediately with the driver, and verify piece count and consignee on bill of lading. Stage product in receiving area for check in.
  • Verify freight against the vendors packing slip or purchase order for accuracy.
  • Maintain organization of pertinent paperwork.
  • Maintain an organized area at all times, including all equipment and supplies necessary to receive freight.
  • Develop working product knowledge of a vast and changing inventory.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
  • Maintain and execute all safety procedures.
  • Arrive at scheduled shifts on time and satisfy work commitments.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing seasonal work hours.
  • All other duties as required.

  • Prior warehouse, or shipping and receiving experience.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
  • High level of attention to detail and assurance of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility, awareness, and ability to problem solve.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
  • A broad understanding of the entire operational process and ability to assess and analyze situations is expected.
